The Spaces Announces Nine New Locations Across Canada

Coworking firm, Spaces will be opening largest North-American work centres in Toronto and Vancouver

Amsterdam-based coworking firm, Spaces has made it official that it will be coming up with nine new locations across Canada. Amongst them, two locations are said to be the largest in North America- The Well (Toronto) and 400 West Georgia (Vancouver). The rest of the locations include Montreal, Victoria, and Kelowna. After opening its first Canadian location in 2017, Spaces has witnessed rapid growth.  

Spaces The Well

Spaces The Well will serve as the largest location situated at 460 Front Street West, Toronto. It will provide over 127,000 square feet of a collaborative workstation. This upscale coworking space will offer an extensive third-floor terrace along with a rooftop patio on the sixth level of the building. All in all, the Well complex will cover a footprint of 7.8 acres consisting of two office buildings enclosing one million square feet of office space. There will be 1,800 residential units with a pedestrian courtyard, storefronts, and retail spaces. This location will open by the year 2022.

Spaces West Georgia

 Spaces West Georgia is situated in Vancouver’s prime location, 400 West Georgia Street. It will provide 120,393 square feet of space dedicated to coworking activities. This location is the second largest after Spaces The Well. The building has been designed with top features. There are glass floors, lush green living walls, patios offering great views, and a spacious lobby that looks like a rainforest. With a design, this sophisticated, Spaces West Georgia may live up to be the best coworking space by the Spaces. The design of the building is a lookalike of the cube lamp design of 20th-century Japanese artist Isamu Noguchi.

Other Spaces openings in Canada

A wide spectrum of professionals from all over the world is choosing to work in a shared space, owing to the many benefits it offers. The Canadians are no exception. Spaces are coming up with new locations to keep up with the demand. It opened Spaces Yorkville (Toronto) and Spaces Gastown (Vancouver) in September 2018. In Montreal, 30,000 square-foot Spaces Mile End is operating right now. The company is planning to open four more Spaces locations in this city. Other spaces to be launched are Spaces Granville and Spaces Mount Pleasant in coworking in Vancouver plus Spaces North York and Spaces Liberty Village coworking in Toronto. The Spaces is growing at an aggressive rate in Canada.

IWG’s Regus expansion in Canada

IWG is the parent brand of Spaces and Regus, making it the world’s largest workspace supplier. Just like Spaces, Regus has also made some expansions in Canada. It has opened its coworking centers in Calgary, Halifax, and Kitchener.

The current Market scenario of Regus and Spaces

The Spaces has 137 locations in 30 countries and 94 cities around the world. The Regus had made its presence known in more than 3,000 locations in approximately 900 cities and 120 countries. Both firms are setting a mark in the world of coworking and are the biggest competitors of WeWork.
