South American Coworking Operator WorQ to Open First Space in the U.S., in Florida’s Tallest Building

A coworking operator originally based in South America will open its first office in the United States this year, more specifically, in the tallest structure in Miami, Florida.
CEO Bryan Burgos announced that WorQ Coworking will occupy a 24,625-square-foot location on the 16th level of the 85-story Panorama Tower in September.
WorQ was established in 2019 and presently has five locations: in Lima, Peru; in Bogota, Colombia; and in Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuador. Freelancers, startups, and multinational corporations including PepsiCo (Nasdaq: PEP), Whirlpool (NYSE: WHR), Forever 21, Kimberly-Clark (NYSE: KMB), Clorox (NYSE: CLX), Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER), and Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) are among its clientele.
Burgos explained that he decided to launch WorQ in Miami as a result of the city’s developing tech industry and the influx of businesses to Florida in search of tax breaks.
Burgos also mentioned that: “Miami is known for its beautiful beaches and great climate,” he said. “That’s why it is a great opportunity for us after the pandemic and the [growth] of hybrid work to open a [location] in a city that will become a headquarters for companies and enterprises. “We want to expand our services to Doral, Wynwood, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, Palm Beach, Tampa and Orlando.”
The 868-foot-tall Panorama Tower, which was completed in 2018, is now Florida’s highest structure. It features 208 rooms of the Hyatt Centric hotel, 821 apartments, 400,000 square feet of office space, and 75,000 square feet of retail space. According to FECR, there are about 72,000 square feet of offices on the 16th and 17th floors of Panorama that are up for lease. LoopNet.com lists available office space at $65 per square foot.
