What counts as “premium” can mean different things for different people—whether it’s super-fast internet, private meeting rooms, an on-site gym, cozy lounges, or artisan coffee — but all these perks make the whole coworking experience better..
So, where’s the best place to find these upscale spaces? Below, we’ve broken it down city by city, looking at the numbers and why professionals are flocking to premium coworking spots. From the hustle of New York City to the laidback energy of Denver, these cities are leading the charge in flexible luxury workspaces.
New York City leads the U.S. with 132 high-end coworking spaces, representing 34.6% of its shared workspace market. Washington, D.C. follows with 48 premium locations, the highest market share among major cities at 62%.
Los Angeles ranks third with 40 high-end coworking spaces, accounting for 47% of its total. Chicago and Atlanta each have 36 upscale locations, making up 33% and 30% of their respective markets. Miami and Houston each have 29 such coworking spaces. However, premium spaces make up 33% of Miami's coworking market, whereas in Houston, they account for only 19%.
Dallas boasts 28 high-end spaces (35% of the market), while Boston stands out with 25, representing 53%, second only to D.C., San Diego, and Austin each feature 24 premium locations, and San Francisco follows with 23, covering 40% of its coworking landscape. Rounding out the top ten, Denver hosts 21 high-end shared workspaces.
1. New York, NY
If you’ve ever worked in New York City, you know: space is at a premium, and every square foot matters. As such, it’s no wonder that NYC has 132 high-end coworking spaces — the most in the country. Of course, the city’s mix of ambitious professionals, fast-paced startups, and global businesses creates a huge demand for flexible workspaces that don’t compromise on quality. Startups, in particular, drive much of this need. With more than 10,000 active startups calling New York City home (second only to Silicon Valley), growing businesses want professional spaces that impress clients without tying them into a 10-year lease.
2. Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. ranks second, with 48 high-end spaces. That’s an impressive 62% of its of its total coworking market. Why? Because D.C.’s workforce demands it. This is a city full of professionals — government contractors, consultants, lawyers, and policy experts — who need spaces that are as professional as they are.
3. Los Angeles, CA
With 40 high-end coworking spaces, nearly half of all coworking spots in LA fall into the premium category. Of course, that’s no surprise as this city thrives on creative energy. 4. Chicago, IL & Atlanta, GA
Chicago shares fourth place with Atlanta, registering 36 high-end coworking spaces and representing 33% of its coworking market. In fact, as the business hub of the Midwest, the city’s professional services sector alone employs more than 800,000 people, spanning finance, healthcare, and logistics.
Meanwhile, Atlanta is on fire when it comes to coworking spaces, and 36 high-end options have emerged to meet growing demand. Although it shares the fourth spot with Chicago, Atlanta’s premium coworking share is 30% — 3% less than its Midwestern counterpart. Nevertheless, the city’s affordability has made it a magnet for startups, small businesses, and ambitious professionals looking for prime locations without the big-city price tag.
5. Miami, FL & Houston, TX
Miami has emerged as a global hub for entrepreneurs, startups, and remote workers. With 29 high-end coworking spaces, the city’s rise is tied to its international business connections and its undeniable appeal as a lifestyle destination. Throughout the last few years, Miami has attracted a wave of professionals looking to escape the colder northern cities.
By contrast, in Houston, only 19% of its total share of coworking spaces qualify as high-end. As a hub for energy, healthcare, and manufacturing, Houston’s economy supports a diverse range of professionals. While affordability remains a priority, demand for premium coworking spaces is growing as businesses increasingly seek flexible, high-quality office solutions for short-term projects and consultants.
6. Dallas, TX
Dallas is booming, and coworking spaces are growing right along with it. With 28 high-end coworking spaces representing 35% of the total market, Dallas has established itself as a leading destination for tech companies and entrepreneurs. As a matter of fact, the Dallas-Fort Worth area is one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the country, and professionals here want flexible workspaces that are functional, professional, and adaptable to fast-changing business needs.

Boston might have fewer coworking spaces overall, but it makes up for it with quality: 25 premium coworking spaces make up 53% of the market — the second-highest percentage on our list. Methodology
- For the purpose of this study we analyzed coworking spaces across more than 600 cities using proprietary data from CoworkingMag.
- Only spaces that were publicly listed as of the beginning of December 2024 were included in the study to ensure the data was current.
- To be included in the analysis, coworking spaces had to offer at least 3 high-end amenities, with these amenities coming from at least 2 different categories.
- A total of 71 different amenities were considered, grouped into 8 distinct categories. These included high-end amenities such as premium internet services, on-site fitness centers, and dedicated meeting rooms.
